URL redirect broke

I have Drupal installed under the "drupal" directory. I had a redirect set up to make example.com go to example.com/drupal and it's been working for years. Now it's looping, so example.com goes to example.com/drupal/drupal/drupal/...

I've tried every permutation I can think with the "URL Redirects" app, but nothing is working.

What's the magic combination?

Re: URL redirect broke

To be clear, I only need the top-level domain redirected. The URLs in Drupal already include the /drupal/. Eg:

    http://example.com/ => http://example.com/drupal/

but

    http:/example.com/drupal/foo => http:/example.com/drupal/foo
