I use godaddy business hosting to manage my clients website. Meaning that clients domains are added as Addon Domain. Now I want to add a domain(daidgroup.com) as an alias to one of the domain(daidgroup.com.ng). So that when visitors visit daidgroup.com, they can be directed to daidgroup.com.ng.
Thanks in anticipation for your quick replies.
Welcome to the Community!
As you're using a Business hosting plan, you can add an alias domain using the instructions here. Please note that an alias domain will direct to the primary domain website on the plan. If you just want to forward the .COM to the .COM.NG, and the .COM.NG is not the primary on the plan, you can forward it within the DNS of the domain itself.
Thanks, Your response is very clear. the .COM.NG is not the primary domain.
So i think the primary should. But i have a serious question:
Do i need to update the nameservers of the .COM to the nameservers of the .COM.NG to achieve this?
No, as the nameservers simply tell the ISPs around the world where to find your zone file, they won't always be "filed" in the same place as your other domains. Even using the same hosting plan. Don't change the nameservers, but do set up the forwarding.
