Email DNS settings transition from gmail to office 365
Our company currently uses gmail for our email services. We are considering moving to Office 365. I would like to perform some tests before making the change for the entire company. When I setup Exchange online for one email account all of my @ values were changed and the google values were deleted. I reset the dns information for email to the pre Exchange online values. How can I transition email accounts one by one instead of making a wholesale change?
Email is controlled at the domain level and there isn't a way to setup a single email address on a different service. The only options available to you would be to use an alternate domain name or setup the email using a subdomain, which requires some custom DNS configuration.
