When entering a hostname in the Domain Control Panel, it adds two entries to the DNS - (example)
ns1.mydomainname.com and ns2.mydomainname.com.
Is there anything else it does?
Would adding these entries to the DNS do the same job?
Thanks!

To the best of my knowledge you can't use custom host names with Cloudflare - when you use Cloudflare that is where all your DNS is managed

The host names are specifically for when you want to manage your own dns / not show the default GoDaddy DNS - You MUST do them via Hostnames as this is then pushed out to the Root Name Servers around the world / registering as DNS servers

Hi PL281,
Thanks for posting.
Let me rephrase my question.
I am already managing my own DNS and have ns1 and ns2 entries for that specific domain. The DNS is not hosted at GoDaddy, but the domain is registered with GoDaddy, so are the hostnames.
If I change the DNS to CloudFlare keeping the ns1 and ns2 hostname entries, will I lose anything?
Thanks!

Sounds like I better host my DNS with GoDaddy then. Thanks!
