How do I get https://mydomain.com to redirect to https://www.mydomain.com

Hello,

Need a bit of bit of help please. Trying to get https://mydomain.com to redirect to https://www.mydomain.com, the www version.

Under manage redirect I have setup the redirect as above Without masking but I am not being forwarded/redirected!

Totally new to website building and thought this would work. How can I get the www redirect up and running?

Bump,

So my Seosite check up says:

https://www.MYDOMAIN.com/ and https://MYDOMAIN.com/ should resolve to the same URL, but currently do not.

I'm on the latest website builder. I think I have tried all I can do with the redirect settings however wondered if there was something I could do with CNAME in DNS?

Hello @bensim90!

Thank you for posting. If someone types your URL in, it should resolve to the secured page if that's how you've set it up. You can use this site to see if your SSL Certificate is installed properly. If you get any errors there, reach out to our support team so they can have a look.

@Heather

Thanks Heather, thats not actually what I am trying to achieve. All URL entries result in the https,if http is entered it automatically redirects so that is al fine.

My issue is that I currently have two identical websites

https://comm-safe.com/

https://www.comm-safe.com/

According to my SEO tool google does not like this and is ranking me lower and it would prefer that one redirects to the other so that they resolve to the same page, eg

https://comm-safe.com/

Redirects to

https://www.comm-safe.com/

That is what I would like to do, I have tried using the redirect and subdomain settings but this seems to just confuse the server as they are one in the same and results in an error on loading, is there anything perhaps a CNAME setting I can use instead?

Thanks

bump.

Any update on this? I have the same situation.

Thanks.
