DKIM signature added to my mails

I see that some mails send from my domains are going to spam, investigating a bit I see that the mails include a DKIM signature with the default selector, and I don't have any dkim in DNS , I'm using cpanel mail accounts, and in cpanel I don't see any option to configure DKIM to get the public key and add to DNS, at the moment I change DMARC policy to none to reduce the probability that mails be mark as spam, but I'm looking for a full solution

Hi @ElenaC,

Unfortunately, GoDaddy doesn't provide this option (DKIM signature) for cPanel and Workspace emails. You can add DKIM for Microsoft 365 email plan only.

The "default" selector is the glitch at GoDaddy servers. Tech support can not help with this.

For your case I would recommend the next:

1. Add SPF and DMARC records in DNS. How to do this for GoDaddy server please read by the link: https://hostbrook.com/help/cpanel-email-settings

2. Test your emails with online tools, like https://www.mail-tester.com/ and follow their advice on how to improve email settings.

Usually,  these two actions enough to prevent getting emails in spam.

3. Although GoDaddy doesn't provide DKIM signature option for both cPanel and Workspace emails you still can send emails with DKIM signature using PHPMailer as an email sender. It works, I did it at all my servers where I need to send email for example from the contact form. What is interesting, emails coming with your new selector and phantom "default" selector but for example GMAIL is ok with is and makes DKIM=pass.

4. The last option is to forget about cPanel emails and use 3rd party email servers that allows linking your domain name and use their email clients. For example Google G-Suite. In this case, Google will provide you with their DKIM public key that you will add to your DNS records. But this option is not for free at most reliable mail server providers.

Hopefully, it helps.
