Does GoDaddy domain need to be hosted to use free forwarded emails through G Suite?

I have a GoDaddy domain that is forwarding to my website at a different domain. My GoDaddy domain is not hosted. I have several free email addresses on this domain that I can forward to another address, but I do not have mailboxes for them. Can I use those email addresses to send and receive email through G Suite?

So you are asking / mixing a few different things here - let me see if I can help clear things up...

1) Email can only be hosted on one service at a time - So this would be either the WorkSpace Email (Free Forwarding) or Google Suite - not both

2) With just your domain registration, you can update the MX records to point to Google Suite - you would do this either at GoDaddy or where you are managing the DNS records

Hope this helps answer your questions
