email bounce back

An organization is trying to send me a link for an exam I need to take. They receive the following message. Any ideas?

Final-Recipient: rfc822;myron@theelectricbrew.com
Action: failed
Status: 5.1.0
Diagnostic-Code: smtp;550 5.1.0 216.244.123.132 is not allowed to send from <scaa.org> per it's SPF Record. Please inspect your SPF settings, and try again. IB508  <http://x.co/srbounce>

Re: email bounce back

@mbontrager it looks like a misconfiguration from their side.

Spoiler
550 holly@coolexample.com Invalid SPF record. Please inspect your SPF settings, and try again. IB508The sending email address's domain has an SPF record that does not authorize the sending email server to send email from the domain.Modify the SPF record to include the server you are trying to send from, or remove the SPF record from the domain.

You may want to communicate with them and ask them to send you from a different address (like a gmail account), and also tell them that they have a misconfiguration in their SPF record.
Maybe you get a free coffee 😉

Hope it helps!
