"My site is launching soon."-using WordPress

Hey there,

My site, which was up for a year or so, reverted to a page that displays "My site is launching soon."

I'm not sure what happened. It's hosted on GoDaddy and uses Wordpress.

I've tried updating Wordpress, but it doesn't seem to fix the issue. I also tried turning off all plugins.

The address is padandpixel.com

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@crecente

At first I was going to say this is something in cloudflare....

However if I goto https://padandpixel.com/huh I get the wordpress 404 page

Also I was able to get to the login screen....

That all being said - do you perhaps an index.htm or index.html file in the root of your website and the .htm / .html has a higher priority than the .php

There was one in there I just noticed. (The index simply said Silence is Golden). I deleted it, but still don't see the site.

@crecente

1) index.php is needed - I specifically was saying index.html or index.htm

2) Can you send a screen capture of your main directory where the website is

3) You tagged this post as windows hosting - If that is true I would also double check your the web config file to make sure it is set correctly

Thanks. It was an HTML.

@crecente

1) You need the index file back

2) it's the default.aspx file causing the issue - https://padandpixel.com/default.aspx

I would also recommend removing some the other non-wordpress related html files as it seems like there were some default website files in the same folder

Re: "My site is launching soon."

I think I can get the index back by reinstalling the theme. But how do I fix the issue with the default.aspx?

The default.aspx you DO want to remove - that is the coming soon page - Once you remove that and get the index page back you should be good to go

Re: "My site is launching soon."

Awesome! It worked. Thanks so much. Any idea how that popped up in there?

@crecente

Not sure - it's possible your web.config file got updated which put the default.aspx back into the list of default files and it had been sitting in the folder all along
