WordPress file upload limitations

Hello, I can't seem to change my upload size to 64MB. I first tried adding

@ini_set( 'upload_max_size' , '64M' );
@ini_set( 'post_max_size', '64M');

 to the functions.php file via the editor in WP as per instructions of the theme I'm trying to upload. That didn't work, then Godaddy told me to create  a user.ini file in the root directory with:

max_input_vars = 10000;
max_execution_time = 36000;
memory_limit = 64M;
upload_max_filesize 64M;

no luck there either

I have tried as per another suggestion adding:

define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );

to the wp-config.php file

None of these suggestions work. GoDaddy wants me to pay $30 to change it but hoping someone in the community knows how to do it . Thanks!

Steve

Re: WordPress file upload limitations

@smoramarco I see you have a typo in the code for your user.ini file.

Here, try with this:

memory_limit = 1024M
max_execution_time = 320
max_input_time = 240
post_max_size = 120M
max_input_vars = 2000
file_uploads = 6
max_file_uploads = 20
upload_max_filesize = 100M

If your plan has less than 1GB of memory, edit the first line to 512M.

Hope it helps!

Re: WordPress file upload limitations

If you have a linux server account you will need to change the file from user.ini to php.ini and make sure it is in the html directory
