Hacking a wordpress site does not require access to the GoDaddy account or any hosting provider account.  Wordpress is typically hacked through poorly secured sites via login exploits.  The key is to use SSL, a product like Securi Security, and security plugins like Wordfence.

 

Its relatively easy to make a site pretty and relatively functional with Wordpress.  Many beginning designers often focus on other site features and forget the necessity to FULLY secure the site.   With that being said, once your security measures are in place, Wordpress is as secure as any other open source platform in use.
