I have a new Wordpress site and chose GoDaddy's Lyrical theme. While editing the theme, I chose a static front page that shows my recent posts. The style and format it picked is nice and I wanted to mimic this on the actual "Blog" page. The problem is, there's no widget or plugin that I can find that actual can do this and preserve the theme's style. The built in WordPress widget for Recent Posts does not include the post excerpt or thumbnail, so if there's no widget available, that means the theme itself is somehow generating this content and exposing it as a widget for me to use on other pages. So how can I show my recent posts, with post excerpt and thumbnail while preserving my theme's style? Where's the widget or plugin for it?

I use the Lyrical theme, and this advice was not helpful. When you go to Appearance -> Editor, as suggested by some sites from your search, they point to a footer.php file, but is not part of the GoDaddy themes. Instead, the GoDaddy themes seem to inherit from a parent them called Primer. This has a footer.php file, but in there, it does not have the explicit text that we are looking for to change, but rather, a set of function calls. This is like a rabbit hole, and it would be very helpful if GoDaddy actually gave more specific instructions for changing the footer of their themes.
