Move your WordPress site automatically

If you have a WordPress® site with another company, you can migrate it to a GoDaddy Managed WordPress account using the built-in migration tool.

Preparing your site for migration

Before migrating your site, you want to make sure your site can be migrated and you have all of the server information you need.

Eligible sites

You can migrate a site from any company or host unless it has:

Server information

To perform the migration, you need the following information from your current host:

  • FTP username and password
  • WordPress admin username and password
  • Host location or IP address

If you've already set up the account you want to use, you need to remove it before completing these instructions.

  1. Log in to your GoDaddy account.
  2. Next to Managed WordPress Websites, click Manage.
  3. Click the image that matches what you see in your account:

  1. In the section for the New Managed WordPress account you want to use, click Set Up.
    Click Set Up
  2. Click Migrate Your Existing WordPress Site, and then complete the on-screen fields.

You'll receive an email once we complete your site's migration.

  1. Click Add Site in the top right of your screen.
    Click Add Site
  2. Select the plan you like to use based on your available credits.
  3. Click I'm migrating an existing site, then click Get Started.

  4. Fill out the remaining fields to get your site migrated.

You'll receive an email once we complete your site's migration.
